Joint Dysfunction: assessment and Management with application on Vertebral and Peripheral joints

At the end of this course the participants should have:

  1. Theoretical knowledge about the function and dysfunction of joints.
  2. Theoretical knowledge about the effect of injury, ageing and immobilisation on synovial joints; and the aim of treatment of joints.
  3. Insight into the assessment of joints dysfunction and reliability of measures.
  4. Knowledge of different approaches of treatment of joint dysfunction (Maitland, Mulligan, Kaltenborn, McKenzie, Hing et al).
  5. Clinical reasoning skills towards choice/grade/dosage of treatment techniques.
  6. Knowledge of the current literature on the effects of joint mobilisation and the evidence for efficacy.
  7. Practical experience of several treatment techniques for vertebral and different peripheral joints.
