The Thoracic Spine: Bridging the gap?

Course outcome:

At the end of this 12 hours course the participant should be able to:

  1. Understand the basic biomechanics of the Thoracic Spine and ribcage, and their relationship to each other (joint, muscles, neural structures and movements) and to the neck and lumbar regions
  2. Do a differential physical examination of the thoracic region.
  3. Recognize thoracic dysfunction (subjective clinical picture confirmed by differential objective/ physical testing) Described syndromes, joint/muscle/neural involvement, pain source (what) vs Mechanism (why). Recognise different pain patterns and the role of the posture in spinal pain.
  4. Decide on appropriate management of the identified dysfunction
