Course outcome:
At the end of this 12 hours course the participant should be able to:
- Understand the basic biomechanics of the Thoracic Spine and ribcage, and their relationship to each other (joint, muscles, neural structures and movements) and to the neck and lumbar regions
- Do a differential physical examination of the thoracic region.
- Recognize thoracic dysfunction (subjective clinical picture confirmed by differential objective/ physical testing) Described syndromes, joint/muscle/neural involvement, pain source (what) vs Mechanism (why). Recognise different pain patterns and the role of the posture in spinal pain.
- Decide on appropriate management of the identified dysfunction
